When Akeelah won the spelling bee competetionwhich took part in her school,her principal suddenly stood up and told her to spell the word "persdititation"in a firm voice.Even the judges said she was only 11 years old and the word is too difficult for her, but the principal did not care and acted as if he was deaf.And repeated the word in a even firmer voice and it sounded like he was about to blow up.Akeelah broke into cold sweat, looking if anyone would help her. She started to tremble and think at the same time.Everyone looked at her thinking she is hopeless, But Akeelah wanted to prove them wrong. So,the shouted "P-E-R-S-D-I-T-I-T-A-T-I-O-N"

I shivered.My winter school uniform was made of thick navy-blue wool, but i had neither a coat nor a sweater.Enryone had somewhere to go unlike me. I panicked. Suddenly there was a commotion. Two japanese soldiers were attacking a paper boy by kicking, slapping and abusing verbally for not bowing at them as they walked The terrified boy begged for mercy and the soldiers eventually swaggered off after kicking his stand.Like other bystanders i could only watch in fear and silence, keeping my eyes down.
